Many people, and many Kickstarter users, have come up with alternatives to touch screen gaming on mobile devices. Everyone knows that fingers ultimately get in the way to anyone who?s serious about gaming on their phone or tablet.
Now Black Powder Media have launched a Kickstarter for their Bluetooth gaming controller for smart devices. Their product is different than what you might expect though ? it?s the smallest wireless controller for smart phones in the world. And it doesn?t just act as a controller, either. The iMpulse game controller is so small it fits in the palm of your hand and is ideal for attaching to your key chain? because it?s also a key finder. Yes, using your smart phone in combination with the iMpulse, you can track down lost keys with ease, which is a pretty handy extra feature.
That?s not all though, you can also take remote pictures with the iMpulse, using it as a controller for your smartphone?s camera, so no more dodgy mirror pictures when you need to take a self portrait. If you?d like a remote control for watching films on your tablet or phone you can use iMpulse to adjust volume, fast forward, rewind and play without interrupting what you?re watching.
It works with both iOS and Android devices and there?s already hundreds of games that are compatible with iMpulse, with many more are on the way. From emulator-based titles to popular touch games such as Temple Run, you can play them all using a controller instead of getting those pesky fingers in the way.
iMupluse is doing well on Kickstarter and it?s easy to see why ? not only is it a clever device, it has loads of extra features and uses, plus it?s cheap. It is very similar to ThinkGeek?s 8-bitty controller, but there is room for some competition in the huge mobile phone accessory market.
Black Powder Media would like $1 shy of $50,000 to fund their project and so far they already have over $40,000 of that target. With 39 days still to go, they?ll have no trouble reaching it. At only $30 for an iMpulse it?s an absolute bargain.
